Vacates bail bond forfeiture orders and releases professional bondsmen, surety bail bond agents, and insurers when a defendant is detained or incarcerated in another state, territory, or country

Requires proof of the principal's detention or incarceration be provided to the court and state's attorney before bail bond forfeiture can be vacated

Allows bail bond forfeiture to be vacated if the state's attorney declines to seek extradition of the principal

Alternatively allows bail bond forfeiture to be vacated if the bondsman, agent, or insurer pays the Division of Criminal Justice the costs it will incur in extraditing the principal to the state

Takes effect October 1, 2012
