Defines "look-a-like firearm" as any imitation, simulated, or replica firearm that substantially duplicates or closely resembles an existing firearm in coloration and appearance.

Prohibits altering, removing, or obscuring required state or federal markings or coloration on look-a-like firearms in a manner that makes them appear more realistic.

Prohibits possession of look-a-like firearms, pellet-firing air guns, or BB guns on public or private elementary or secondary school property.

Exempts theatrical productions (motion pictures, television, stage productions) and official use by law enforcement, Department of Correction, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, and military or naval forces from these restrictions.

Violations of the prohibition provisions constitute an infraction, effective October 1, 2012.
