Amends Section 7-294d of the general statutes to allow waiver of criminal conviction disqualifications for police officer candidates, effective October 1, 2012.

Permits the council to waive requirements that disqualify candidates if they were convicted in another jurisdiction of a crime that would disqualify them in Connecticut.

Applies waiver only if the other jurisdiction granted relief that removed the conviction as a barrier to police officer employment and the person was subsequently employed as a police officer in that jurisdiction.

Allows individuals with out-of-state criminal convictions to qualify for appointment as probationary candidates in Connecticut law enforcement if they successfully served as police officers in the state where their conviction was relieved.
