Requires constables for fish and game protection to complete a basic police training course tailored to their duties, provided by a certified officer at their local police department, before entering office.

Requires constables for fish and game protection to be certified by a firearms trainer and comply with periodic recertification requirements applicable to regular sworn police officers in order to carry a firearm.

Exempts constables for fish and game protection appointed under section 26-6a from police officer certification requirements under section 7-294d.

Removes the requirement that peace officers be "while engaged in the performance of such peace officer's official duties" to lawfully possess a firearm on school grounds, allowing off-duty possession.

Makes possession of a firearm or deadly weapon on school grounds a class D felony, with exceptions for approved programs, authorized agreements, peace officers, and persons traversing school property to access hunting lands.
