Requires insurance companies to pay ambulance service providers directly within 60 days of service delivery, effective January 1, 2012.

Applies to both individual health insurance policies (Section 38a-498) and group health insurance policies (Section 38a-525).

Mandates ambulance providers to stamp bills with notice stating "NOTICE: This bill subject to mandatory assignment pursuant to Connecticut general statutes."

Exempts transactions where ambulance providers and insurance entities have existing contracts that already provide for direct payment arrangements.

Payment requirement applies only when the ambulance provider complied with statutory provisions and has not received payment from any other source.
