SB 00019 Summary

• Requires individual and group health insurance policies that cover outpatient prescription drugs to include coverage for FDA-approved prescription drugs treating head lice when prescribed by a licensed health care provider

• Applies to health insurance policies of the types specified in subdivisions (1), (2), (4), (11) and (12) of section 38a-469 of Connecticut general statutes

• Head lice treatment coverage must be subject to the same terms and conditions as all other benefits under the respective policies

• Effective date: January 1, 2013
