Municipalities may establish penalties for zoning regulation violations through ordinance, specifying which violations permit citations and fine amounts.

Maximum fine allowed is $150 per day that a violation continues.

Fines must be paid to the municipal treasurer.

Hearing procedures for citations follow section 7-152c requirements, with the restriction that zoning enforcement officers, building inspectors, or municipal zoning authority employees cannot serve as hearing officers.

Repeals the provision that made zoning enforcement officers liable for treble damages when citations were issued frivolously or without probable cause (effective October 1, 2012).
