Establishes a new crime of public indecency in a correctional institution, defined as lewd exposure of intimate parts or masturbation by an inmate that may reasonably be expected to be viewed by a Department of Correction employee.

Classifies public indecency in a correctional institution as a class D felony with sentences running consecutively to any existing sentence the inmate was already serving.

Adds violations of the new public indecency statute to the definition of "nonviolent sexual offense" under section 54-250 of the general statutes.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
