State Board of Education shall study teacher preparation issues in consultation with the Board of Regents for Higher Education and University of Connecticut, effective July 1, 2012

Study shall examine requiring student teachers to complete minimum hours of student teaching beginning in first year and continuing annually, including work with special education and gifted students

Study shall examine requiring teacher preparation candidates to have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and meet academic program requirements in their subject area

Study shall examine requiring coursework on parental involvement in education and cultural issues affecting student learning environments

State Board of Education shall deliver comprehensive recommendations to the Department of Education, Board of Regents, University of Connecticut, and the General Assembly joint standing committee on higher education by April 1, 2013
