Repeals and revises Section 7-16a regarding town clerk appointments, changing the notification deadline language from "within" to "not later than" ten days after appointment or vacancy.

Repeals and revises Section 7-19 regarding assistant town clerk appointments, similarly changing deadline language from "within" to "not later than" ten days for filing notices with the Secretary of the State.

Requires appointing authorities or chief executive officials to file notices indicating the name, address, appointment date, method, and authorizing law for all town clerk and assistant town clerk appointments.

Requires town clerks to notify the Secretary of the State of assistant town clerk vacancies within ten days; requires first selectman or chief executive to notify of town clerk vacancies.

Takes effect upon passage.
