• Requires pharmacists to include the quantity of prescribed drug and a prominently printed expiration date on prescription container labels, effective January 1, 2014
• Expiration date on label must be based on manufacturer's recommended conditions of use and storage and no later than the manufacturer's determined expiration date
• Mandates that when a generic drug is dispensed, the pharmacist must include both the generic name and brand name on the label in the format: "[Generic name] Generic for [Brand name]"
• Amends Section 20-617 of the general statutes
