Amends Connecticut General Statutes to define "alternative school program" and require local or regional boards of education to include these programs in their strategic school profile reports.

Defines "alternative educational opportunity" and mandates that parents or legal guardians provide informed consent before a student may be placed in such programs.

Requires alternative school programs and alternative educational opportunities to provide a similar number of class sessions and comparable course offerings access as general education programs.

Referred to the Education Committee during the January 2013 legislative session.
