Amends section 29-252(a) of the general statutes to require the State Building Inspector and Codes and Standards Committee to update the State Building Code by January 1, 2014 to incorporate revisions to the National Electrical Code adopted by the National Fire Protection Association.

Mandates that after the initial 2014 update, the State Building Code shall be updated as deemed necessary, but no later than twelve months after the date of first publication of subsequent revisions to the National Electrical Code.

Ensures the State Building Code remains current with nationally recognized electrical standards by establishing a mandatory update schedule.
