Defines "look-a-like firearm" as any imitation, replica, or device substantially similar in appearance to a firearm that would lead a reasonable person to perceive it as a firearm.

Prohibits altering, removing, or obliterating required state or federal coloration or markings on look-a-like firearms in a manner that makes them appear more like actual firearms.

Prohibits possession of look-a-like firearms with altered or removed required markings, and prohibits possession of look-a-like firearms on public or private elementary or secondary school property.

Exempts theatrical productions (motion pictures, television, stage) and official use by law enforcement, Department of Correction, Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, and military forces from these restrictions.

Requires all local and regional boards of education to notify students in writing about these provisions, effective July 1, 2013; violations constitute an infraction.
