HB 6363 Summary

• Eliminates the Gaming Policy Board and transfers its functions to the Department of Consumer Protection, effective July 1, 2013.

• Transfers the Geospatial Information Systems Council's functions to the Office of Policy and Management, which becomes responsible for managing geospatial data and systems across state agencies.

• Consolidates various state boards, commissions and councils by eliminating or reducing their membership and functions, including the Connecticut Public Transportation Commission, Child Day Care Council, and various advisory committees.

• Repeals approximately 50 statutory sections related to defunct or consolidated boards and agencies to streamline government structure.

• Makes technical changes throughout the General Statutes to update references to eliminated entities and transfer their duties to remaining departments, particularly the Department of Consumer Protection and Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
