Removes the requirement that advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) must collaborate with a licensed physician, allowing them to collaborate instead with "other licensed health care providers."

Changes "postbasic" to "post-basic" and modifies language from "shall collaborate" to "may collaborate" in the definition of advanced nursing practice.

Eliminates detailed written collaboration requirements between APRNs and physicians regarding controlled substance prescribing levels and patient outcome reviews.

Maintains the exception that nurse anesthetists (certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists) must have a physician physically present when prescribing and administering medical therapeutics during surgery.

Updates the exemption in section 20-9(b) so APRNs are exempt from physician licensure requirements if practicing "in accordance with section 20-87a, as amended by this act" rather than requiring collaboration with a licensed physician.
