HB 6469 Summary

• Restructures the Department of Economic and Community Development's annual report requirements by consolidating and simplifying existing reporting mandates, effective July 1, 2013.

• Removes detailed requirements for reporting on enterprise zones, economic clusters, brownfield programs, energy conservation loans, biodiesel incentives, fuel diversification, housing trust fund activities, dry cleaning remediation, and permit ombudsman activities from the main annual report.

• Adds a new requirement for the department to provide a summary of brownfield-related efforts jointly with the office of the permit ombudsman and an overview of tourism, arts, and historic preservation activities.

• Repeals sections 32-4e and 32-4h and redefines "economic cluster" in section 32-222 as a grouping of industries linked through customer, supplier, or other relationships recognized by the commissioner.

• Removes a requirement that municipalities meeting affordable housing criteria be listed in the department's annual report and eliminates separate reporting requirements for the Housing Trust Fund and dry cleaning remediation programs.
