Head moderator, registrars of voters, and town clerk must meet within 7 days after each regular state election to identify errors in election returns.

Head moderator must correct any identified errors and file an amended return with the Secretary of State and registrars of voters within 14 days of the election.

Town clerk of each town divided into voting districts must file a consolidated listing of official returns in tabular format with the Secretary of State within 21 days of the election.

Town clerk must examine the consolidated listing to identify discrepancies between total votes cast for candidates and the sum of votes across all voting districts, and notify the head moderator if discrepancies are found.

Secretary of State must retain all consolidated listings for at least 10 years after the election date.
