Requires clinical social workers and master social workers to complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuing education during each 12-month registration period, with at least 1 contact hour focused on cultural competency training.

Mandates that professional counselors include not less than 1 contact hour of cultural competency training in their continuing education requirements, with regulations to be adopted by the Commissioner of Public Health.

Requires alcohol and drug counselors to complete a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education each registration period, including at least 1 contact hour on cultural competency.

Requires licensed marital and family therapists to include not less than 1 contact hour of cultural competency training in their continuing education programs, with regulations to be adopted by the commissioner.

Effective October 1, 2013, and applies to registration periods beginning on or after October 1, 2014.
