Grants civil liability immunity to school security consultants hired by local or regional boards of education, state charter schools, or regional educational service centers for designing school security plans.

Immunity applies to damage or injury occurring on or after October 1, 2013, resulting from any act, error, or omission in designing the security plan.

Exempts immunity protections when damage or injury is caused by reckless, wilful, or wanton misconduct of the consultant.

Intended to encourage the hiring of school security consultants by protecting them from civil liability lawsuits.

Takes effect October 1, 2013.
