Amends Section 9-234 of the general statutes to allow official checkers to verify voter names either manually or electronically at elections, effective October 1, 2013.

Requires electronic devices used for voter name checking to be approved by the Secretary of the State in accordance with new procedures established in the act.

Directs the Secretary of the State to review and approve eligible electronic devices for voter checking, with an approved list to be made available to municipalities by September 1, 2013.

Permits the Secretary of the State to periodically update the list of approved electronic devices as needed.
