Polling places for primary elections shall be the same as those used for general elections, unless registrars of voters reduce the number of polling places under specified procedures.

Registrars may designate fewer polling places for primaries, with notification to the Secretary of State and candidates 45-60 days before the primary.

Candidates may object to polling place reductions in writing by 4 p.m. on the 30th day before the primary; if any candidate objects or registrars cannot agree, the original polling places must be used.

Registrars must notify affected electors by mail at least 25 days before the primary if their polling place differs from the general election location.

Primary election polls shall be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the number of required moderators may be reduced if registrars agree, provided at least one certified moderator serves each polling place.
