Repeals and replaces Section 27-33a of the general statutes, effective October 1, 2013

Expands the definition of covered military service to include the armed forces of the state (organized militia, National Guard, naval militia, and marine corps branch of naval militia) and any reserve component of the armed forces of the United States

Requires employers to grant employees leave of absence for military duty, including meetings and drills, performed during regular working hours

Prohibits employers from reducing vacation or holiday privileges, denying promotions, or otherwise disadvantaging employees due to military leave
