Individual health insurance policies must provide coverage for diagnosis and treatment of pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with streptococcal infections (PANDAS), effective January 1, 2014.

Group health insurance policies must provide coverage for diagnosis and treatment of PANDAS, effective January 1, 2014.

Department of Public Health shall develop education and research programs on PANDAS including clinical awareness programs for physicians, epidemiological studies within the state, and informational outreach to teachers and the general public, effective October 1, 2013.

Department of Public Health shall establish a panel of experts to develop practice guidelines for PANDAS diagnosis, care and treatment in Connecticut.

Department of Public Health shall establish a state liaison to develop science-based guidelines for PANDAS in coordination with the National Institute of Mental Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
