Requires individual and group health insurance policies to cover diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, including behavioral therapy, prescription drugs, psychiatric and psychological services, physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.

Limits yearly behavioral therapy benefits to $50,000 for children under 9 years old, $35,000 for ages 9-12, and $25,000 for ages 13-14.

Prohibits insurers from imposing visit limits based on reasons other than medical necessity and prevents higher cost-sharing for autism treatment compared to other medical conditions.

Restricts utilization review of treatment plans to no more than once every six months unless the treating provider agrees to more frequent review.

Grandfathers individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder before the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders was released, maintaining their previous benefit levels.
