Permits unit owners in common interest communities to affix security cameras to the exterior of their units effective October 1, 2013.

Allows associations to adopt rules governing the size, number, and manner of affixing or removing security cameras, but prohibits associations from banning security cameras outright.

Amends Section 47-230 to add security camera installation as a permitted alteration to unit exteriors without requiring association permission.

Amends Section 47-261b to explicitly prohibit associations from prohibiting security cameras while preserving their authority to regulate camera specifications and installation methods.

Applies new security camera provisions to all common interest communities in the state, including those created before January 1, 1984.
