Municipalities may publish brief legal notices in newspapers in lieu of full notices required under multiple Connecticut General Statutes sections, provided timing and frequency requirements are still met (effective October 1, 2013).

Brief legal notices must include: subject matter description, relevant details (meeting date/time/location, polling hours, property address, or application decision), website address for additional information, town clerk's physical address and office hours, and a phone number to request mailed copies of full information.

Newspapers publishing municipal legal notices must indicate in their index the pages where such legal notices appear (effective October 1, 2013).
