Repeals and replaces Section 54-65c of the general statutes regarding bail bond forfeiture related to fugitives in other jurisdictions.

Requires courts to vacate bail bond forfeiture orders and release professional bondsmen, surety bail bond agents, and insurers if the principal is detained or incarcerated in another state, territory, or country and proof is provided to the court and state's attorney.

Allows bail bond forfeiture orders to be vacated if the state's attorney declines to seek extradition of the principal.

Alternatively allows forfeiture orders to be vacated if the state's attorney seeks extradition and the bondsman, agent, or insurer pays the Division of Criminal Justice's extradition costs to the state.

Takes effect October 1, 2013.
