Expands power of attorney authority under section 1-52 to allow agents to execute written documents directing disposition of the principal's body upon death or designating individuals to control such disposition.

Allows conservators of the person under section 45a-656 to execute written documents in advance directing body disposition or designating individuals to have custody and control of the conserved person's body upon death.

Permits conservators and agents to execute disposition documents on behalf of conserved persons or principals, with the same legal requirements as documents executed by individuals (written, subscribed, and attested by two witnesses).

Establishes that persons charged with crimes related to the deceased person's death (sections 53a-54a through 53a-55a) are excluded from participating in disposition arrangements if charges are pending or the person has been found guilty.

Effective October 1, 2013, and applies to sections 1-52, 45a-318, and 45a-656(a) of Connecticut general statutes.
