Banks, out-of-state banks, Connecticut credit unions, federal credit unions, and out-of-state credit unions must redact all but the last four digits of account numbers on account statements for Connecticut account holders.

The requirement takes effect on October 1, 2014.

The bill protects account holders whose account statements may be inadvertently accessed by unauthorized individuals.
