Adds definition of "counterfeit commodity" to the Unfair Sales Practices Act, defined as a product bearing unauthorized trademarks or identifying marks of a manufacturer, processor, packer, distributor or third-party food certification agency, falsely representing the product's origin or certification.

Grants the Commissioner of Consumer Protection authority to inspect packages and amounts of commodities to determine if they are counterfeit commodities.

Authorizes the commissioner to order counterfeit commodities off sale and mark or tag them as illegal, with no person permitted to sell or dispose of such items without the commissioner's specific approval.

Effective date of July 1, 2014 for amendments to sections 42-115g and 42-115h of the general statutes.
