Repeals and replaces Section 9-17 of the general statutes effective July 1, 2014, reducing mandatory voter registration sessions held by town registrars.

Eliminates separate session requirements for primary day and multiple election day sessions, replacing them with a single mandatory session on the seventh day before each regular election from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Requires registrars to hold a limited session on the last weekday before each regular election from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for newly qualified electors (those who met age, citizenship, or residency requirements after the previous session).

Maintains requirement for registrars to conduct one annual session at each public high school between January 1 and the last day of the school year to admit eligible persons, with rotating sessions in regional school districts.

Removes the exemption that allowed towns with populations under 25,000 persons to skip certain registration sessions.
