Repeals and replaces subsection (c) of section 5-169 of the general statutes regarding the Disability Retirement Board composition.

Requires the Governor to appoint seven physicians who are current or retired state employees to serve as a medical examining board for disability retirement determinations.

Mandates that one board member be experienced in respiratory or pulmonary fields and two members be experienced in psychiatry.

Establishes a quorum of three members (including the elected chairman or secretary) needed to determine applicant entitlement to disability retirement.

Takes effect October 1, 2014.
