For scheduled appointments 10+ days away, notice must be sent by mail or secure email at least 3 days after scheduling; for shorter notice or walk-ins, notice must be hand-delivered at arrival

Exempts patients covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or workers' compensation from notice requirements

Requires hospital-based facilities to display prominent signage in patient waiting areas explaining the facility is hospital-based and may charge facility fees, and clearly identify the hospital or health system in all signage and marketing materials
