Repeals and replaces Section 53a-122 of the general statutes concerning larceny in the first degree, effective October 1, 2014.

Updates statutory language to replace "he" with "such person" for gender-neutral terminology.

Creates a mandatory minimum sentence of five years imprisonment for first-degree larceny convictions involving defrauding a public community, which cannot be suspended or reduced by the court.

Classifies larceny in the first degree as a class B felony.
