Local and regional boards of education that assign school resource officers must enter into a memorandum of understanding with law enforcement agencies defining the role and responsibilities of such officers, effective July 1, 2014.

The Department of Education must disaggregate and report school-based arrest data by school, race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability status, and offense type using data from strategic school profile reports.

School-based arrest data (arrests of enrolled students on school property during the school day or at school-sponsored activities) must be included in annual strategic school profile reports submitted to the Commissioner of Education.

In-school suspensions, out-of-school suspensions, and expulsions must be added to the measures included in strategic school profile reports, alongside truancy data and special education information.

Disaggregated measures of school-based arrests must be tracked in the state-wide public school information system for access by local and regional boards of education.
