SB 82 Summary

• Allows package stores to sell gift baskets containing only alcoholic liquor and items already authorized for sale (cigarettes, bar utensils, nonalcoholic beverages, cheese, crackers, etc.)

• Permits package stores to offer free samples, fee-based wine education classes, and tastings conducted by permittees or charitable organizations during regular business hours, with a maximum of ten uncorked bottles available at one time

• Authorizes package stores to sell gift packages of alcoholic liquor shipped into the state that may include nonalcoholic items (excluding food or tobacco) provided the nonalcoholic items do not exceed the alcoholic items in dollar value

• Maintains the annual package store permit fee at five hundred thirty-five dollars
