State Librarian shall establish guidelines for transferring permanent records of political subdivisions into electronic format and for safe storage of such records.

Changed language in public records statute from "defined" to "described" when referring to records in sections 11-8 and 11-8a.

Municipalities may dispose of paper copies of municipal records required to be retained for more than 10 years after 10 years have elapsed, provided an electronic copy is retained using a method approved by the Public Records Administrator.

All changes become effective October 1, 2014.
