SB 109 - Water System Rates Summary

• Amends Special Act 75-57, Section 5 to require water district commissioners to charge the same rates to all customers for water service.

• Amends Number 193 of the Special Acts of 1965, Section 3 with the same requirement that all water rates must be uniform across all customers.

• Repeals nine older special acts dating from 1923 to 1965 that previously governed water district rate-setting authority.

• All amendments take effect upon passage and apply to water system rate-setting for maintenance, operations, and debt payment obligations.
