Amends section 1-217 of the general statutes to expand protections for nondisclosure of residential addresses under the Freedom of Information Act, effective July 1, 2014

Extends residential address privacy protections to sworn members of any law enforcement unit who have obtained certification from the Police Officer Standards and Training Council, beyond just municipal police and state police

Maintains existing address privacy protections for judges, court magistrates, Department of Correction employees, prosecutors, public defenders, firefighters, and employees of various state agencies

Removes language limiting protection to "a municipal police department" to broaden coverage to certified law enforcement units statewide
