Repeals and replaces Section 3-95 of the general statutes regarding notary public fees, effective July 1, 2014.

Maintains the existing maximum fee of five dollars for any act performed by a notary public.

Permits notaries to charge an additional fee for travel expenses at a rate of thirty-five cents per mile or at a higher rate if agreed to by the client prior to travel.

Allows market-determined fees for traveling expenses rather than a fixed rate, giving notaries flexibility in compensation.
