Health care providers authorized to perform physical examinations on children five years of age or under must indicate on the state Department of Education's early childhood health assessment record form whether a developmental screening was performed.

Developmental screening is defined as using methods recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics to identify concerns regarding a child's physical and mental development, including sensory, behavioral, motor, language, social, perceptual, or emotional skills.

Effective July 1, 2015.
