Commissioners of Motor Vehicles and Consumer Protection must jointly compile, maintain, and post a list on their websites of licensed automotive glass work providers, including car dealers, repairers, and glazier contractors.

Insurance Commissioner must notify insurance companies issuing private passenger automobile insurance in the state and provide them with the website addresses of the compiled list.

Insurance companies and third-party claims administrators must provide insureds who submit automotive glass claims with a copy of or the website addresses to the list of licensed glass shops.

Insurance companies and claims administrators are prohibited from requiring insureds to use a specific person for automotive glass work or stating that non-network shops will cause delays or lack of guarantee.

Initial contact between glass claims representatives and insureds must include a statement informing the insured of their right to choose a licensed glass shop for repairs.

All provisions take effect October 1, 2015.
