Permits state employees who are active volunteer firefighters or ambulance service members to respond to emergency calls during work hours without loss of pay, vacation time, sick leave, or overtime accumulation, either with authorization or prior to reporting for work.

Allows state employees who are certified American Red Cross disaster service volunteers to take up to 15 working days per year for specialized disaster relief services without loss of pay or benefits.

Permits state employee volunteer firefighters and ambulance service members to attend training sessions and drills during regular work hours without loss of pay, overtime, or sick leave.

Authorizes state employees who are members of volunteer canine search and rescue teams to respond to search and rescue calls during or before work hours without loss of pay or benefits, with verification from police or fire department chiefs.

Allows state employee volunteer firefighters injured on or after January 1, 2014 to use sick leave with pay for work-related injuries, provided weekly sick leave plus workers' compensation benefits do not exceed total workers' compensation wage replacement benefits, effective July 1, 2015.
