HB 6901 - Minor Party Candidate Certifications

• Removes the requirement that candidates nominated by minor parties sign nomination forms filed with the Secretary of State or municipal clerks.

• Requires minor parties to send written notification via first-class mail to each nominated candidate and provide a copy to the Secretary of State or municipal clerk within 62 days before the election.

• Maintains the 62-day filing deadline for minor parties to submit lists of nominees including candidates' names, street addresses, and office titles/districts.

• Allows candidates to decline nominations under existing statute 9-460 after being notified of their nomination.

• Effective July 1, 2015.
