New car dealers must provide purchasers with a written statement in at least 10-point boldface type at the time of sale explaining Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protections regarding aftermarket and recycled parts, effective July 1, 2015.

The required disclosure explains that manufacturers and dealers cannot void warranties solely because aftermarket or recycled parts were used or non-dealer service was performed, with limited exceptions for defective parts that cause damage.

Homemaker and companion service registries must provide written notice to consumers within four calendar days (changed from seven days) after supplying, referring, or placing an individual, specifying the registry's legal liabilities, effective October 1, 2015.

Individuals who provide material information to the Department of Consumer Protection leading to investigation and enforcement against telephone solicitors making misleading calls shall receive compensation of 15 to 30 percent of total state recovery, effective July 1, 2015.
