Municipalities shall waive interest on delinquent property taxes for armed forces members who are serving outside the state when payment is due or have resided in the state for less than one year since returning from out-of-state service.

Interest waiver applies to property tax payments by U.S. armed forces members or reserve component members who have been called to active service.

Waived interest shall be reinstated if an armed forces member fails to pay delinquent property taxes after residing in the state for at least one year following return from out-of-state service.

Repeals sections 12-146c and 12-146d of the general statutes, effective October 1, 2015.

Effective October 1, 2015, for assessment years commencing on or after that date.
