Registered interior designers must complete a minimum of four hours of continuing education every three years in areas related to the State Building Code and Fire Safety Code, with the three-year period commencing on the first renewal date on or after October 1, 2015

Interior designers applying for certificate renewal on or after October 1, 2018, must sign a statement attesting to completion of continuing education requirements and retain attendance records or certificates of completion for a minimum of three years

Designers must submit continuing education records to the commissioner within forty-five days of request for inspection and verification of compliance

The annual renewal fee for interior designer certificates remains one hundred ninety dollars, with licensed architects exempted from the fee requirement

Updates language in existing regulations to add gender-neutral pronouns ("or her/herself") and clarify that designers may apply for renewal of their registration certificates
