Repeals and replaces Section 7-438 of general statutes, effective October 1, 2015.

Retired members who accept employment from the state or non-participating municipalities continue receiving their retirement allowance and earn credit in the state retirement system, but cannot earn credit in any municipal retirement system.

Retired members who accept employment from their original or another participating municipality may earn credit in the municipal employees' retirement system while receiving no retirement allowance, with three exceptions: employment under 20 hours per week, services limited to 90 or fewer working days per calendar year, or non-participation in the municipal retirement system during reemployment.

Members reemployed for more than 90 working days in one calendar year must reimburse the Municipal Employees' Retirement Fund for retirement payments received during the 90-day period.
