Expands indemnification coverage to include all members of law enforcement units as defined in statute, inspectors in the Division of Criminal Justice, and special Capitol police officers, not just State Police and Capitol Police.

Requires indemnification by the governmental unit that brought charges or prosecuted the law enforcement professional, shifting responsibility from the employing agency to the charging agency.

Mandates indemnification for economic losses including attorney's fees and costs when criminal charges are dismissed or the law enforcement professional is found not guilty.

Allows indemnified law enforcement professionals to bring civil actions in Superior Court to enforce indemnification provisions.

Takes effect October 1, 2015.
